Assignment # 10:)
In my opinion i think the peer review we do in class is pretty effective because i personally like getting feedback from my peers and having them tell me what i should or should'nt include in my papers. Some ways i think it could be improved is by maybe having a big group discussion. For example, have everyone sitting in a big circle and having the peers face eachother that way we can all discuss on different ways to improve our writing skills and that way we can all have more communication with our peers and get to know one another so when it comes down to having small groups it isn't as awkward. As a peer reviewer i think i'd have to say that my biggest strengths is looking at the paper from a deeper perpective and try to understand why the person wrote it that specific way. One of my weaknesses is that i don't really look at the spelling or grammar part of a paper so i really can't help them in that area. My ideal peer review process is exactly what we are doing now. For example, writing rough drafts and actually having a peer read them and review them and give us advice on how to improve our paper is a pretty good thing. I still think we should have more group discussions. I love having both small and large groups. Small groups because you get face to face with your peers and get advice straight forward. Having large groups because you get advice from everyones different perspectives. I definitely feel that we do have the appropriate amount of time for peer review so i think we should probably do it a little bit more.
